Today after we drove for 2 hours we went to QANTAS Founders Museum. Do you know what QANTAS stands for? Well here is the answer: Q = Queensland, A = and N = Northern, T = Territory, A = Aerial, S= Service. That makes: QANTAS!
We saw a big 747 jumbo and were able to sit in first class at the front of the plane – not the best place to sit in a crash! We also sat in two other planes during our tour. We learned that not even Superman or Bruce Willis could open the escape hatch where the emergency slide comes out. This was the first time I have been in a plane (except for when I was 10 months old going to Tasmania and when I nearly decided I wanted to come out early into the world when I was born!) We saw the cargo hold and had a photo taken as we stood in the jet engine.
In the Museum we saw movies of old planes and how QANTAS began – Pop, you would have loved every minute (no, millisecond) of this place!
After a quick trip to the shops for food, we threw the vortex, had a shower and then set off for dinner.
Tomorrow we are headed to The Stockman’s Hall of Fame.
